Dr. John Yoshi Shyu leads the Corning Life Sciences applications and commercial technology teams, supporting customers globally in Bioprocess, Cell and Regenerative Therapy, Viral Vector Scale-up, Vaccine Production, and 3D Cell Culture. Since joining Corning in 2008, Dr. Shyu has leveraged his expertise to help key stem cell customers overcome complex challenges in scaling manufacturing processes. His work has focused on optimizing production workflows and implementing innovative solutions to achieve manufacturing scales necessary for cell and gene therapy applications. With a strong emphasis on Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC), Dr. Shyu has played an instrumental role in advancing the commercialization of next-generation cell therapies. He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University.
