Dr. Lisa O’Flynn is the Vice President of Process and Analytical Development at Avectas, where she leads the scientific and strategic development of the Solupore® platform for next-generation cell therapy manufacturing. Since joining Avectas in 2019, Dr. O’Flynn has guided the evolution of Solupore® from early non-viral transfection research to a fully integrated, automated manufacturing solution designed to deliver scalable, cost-efficient, and GMP-ready cell therapies.

She directs multidisciplinary teams across process development, analytical sciences, and technology transfer, enabling both internal innovation as well as successful collaborations with global partners. Under her leadership, Avectas has established the integrated Solupore® manufacturing platform, expanded its technical capabilities, strengthened regulatory and translational readiness, and streamlined the pathway from research through GMP manufacturing.

With more than 15 years’ experience in cell therapy development, she brings deep expertise in process and product development, ATMP manufacturing, and early-phase clinical and regulatory execution. Prior to joining Avectas, she led process development at Orbsen Therapeutics, advancing multiple cell therapy programs from concept through GMP manufacturing at EU sites and contributing to four Phase 1/2 clinical trials.

Dr. O’Flynn holds a BSc in Biotechnology, an MSc in Immunology from Imperial College London, and a PhD from NUI Galway focused on developing dendritic cell-based therapies for immune modulation and transplantation.
