Maz is the Director of Automation and Digital Innovation at the Cell & Gene Therapy Catapult. He leads the organisation’s automation and digital strategy, focusing on accelerating technology adoption across the advanced therapies sector to reduce COGs, enable industrialisation and scale-up, and support the transition from laboratory research to GMP manufacturing.

Maz holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA in Manufacturing Management, and a PhD in Industrial Automation. His career spans the automotive, aerospace, defence, and FMCG industries, giving him deep expertise in manufacturing systems and production scale-up. He now applies this experience to help shape the future of cell and gene therapy manufacturing.
