Núria Gavaldà
Núria Gavaldà holds a PhD in Neurobiology and a Postgraduate Degree in Pharmacovigilance from the University of Barcelona.
Between 2005 and 2010 she worked as research associate in Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, and her research focused on neural development.
In 2010 she returned to Barcelona to become the Scientific Director at SOM Biotech, a small biotech company dedicated to drug repurposing.
In 2014, she joined the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), as Director of Strategy, where she contributed to the implementation of scientific policies, promoting responsible research and innovation (RRI) with high societal impact. During nine years, she also coordinated the research activities of the European University Hospitals Alliance (EUHA). She further complemented her training with the Executive Program in Healthcare Institutions at IESE Business School in Madrid.
Since March 2023 she is the Strategy Director at the Blood and Tissue Bank (BST) of Catalonia, a SoHO establishment. In May 2024 she was appointed Director of the Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) Manufacturing Platform at BST.
