Rob Nixon
Rob is a commercial leader with over 15 years’ experience driving strategic growth, sales leadership, and team performance across the life sciences sector. He currently serves as Commercial Director at Qkine, a Cambridge-based manufacturer of high-purity, animal-free growth factors, cytokines, and complex proteins used in stem cell research, regenerative medicine, organoid culture, and latterly cell and gene therapy applications.
At Qkine, Rob leads the company’s global commercial strategy, expanding market reach and customer engagement to support translational science and biomanufacturing. He brings particular expertise in advancing solutions for cell therapy workflows, having previously built and led the European sales team focused on cell culture media, buffers, and custom solutions for CAR-T, MSC, and NK cell therapy manufacturing at Fujifilm Irvine Scientific — supporting customers through preclinical development and clinical trial phases.
Rob’s leadership is grounded in a commitment to customer success, scientific innovation, and commercial execution that bridges discovery research and regulated cell therapy development. His experience spans start-ups, growth-stage biotechs, and established organisations, enabling him to deliver scalable commercial operations and build strong cross-functional teams that align technical expertise with customer and market needs.
He holds a degree from The University of Manchester and is a recognised voice on commercial strategy, cell therapy enabling technologies, and life science market trends. Rob is based in the Manchester region and actively contributes insights that advance scientific and commercial impact across the life science ecosystem.
